Survivor Car Australia Magazine
Director, Deputy Editor, Regular Contributor

Survivor Car Australia was Australia’s favourite classic car magazine, a full colour perfect bound high quality magazine published bi-monthly focusing on a section of the car fraternity that has been emerging and capturing people’s attention and interest. What makes Survivor cars so attractive and intriguing is simply their rarity. Whilst thousands of customised, concourse and restored cars are on display at many car events around the country on any given weekend, very few genuine Survivor cars are evident.

What makes Survivor cars so appealing is their true original unrestored condition. You can restore a car a dozen times, but you can’t un-restore it. It’s only original once. Paint chips and scratches, some minor dings and scrapes, worn stitching in seats and pit marks in the chrome. All of these battle scars give a Survivor car patina and character which not only tell us the story of its life, but also differentiates it from a restored or modified car.

After more than ten years producing the popular regular issues, and multiple special editions released each year, the Survivor Car Australia journey came to a close in April 2023, with Collectors Issue 50 being the final magazine.

Survivor Car Australia introduced a new and fresh genre of classic car enthusiasts more than 10 years ago, when it raised the bar, setting the benchmark tapping into our rich nostalgic Australian motoring history, with editorial content, and depth of research into storytelling, unprecedented in an Australian motoring magazine. From this, a solid, strong well-known and recognised brand was built, which has a large and loyal readership and fan following, which has enriched this genre of our car culture setting a new standard.
